I kind of want to buy the book that this short piece is based on. The one thing they seem to have gotten wrong is that extroverts are more likely to create avatars that are drastically different from themselves. I've noticed that it's usually the introverts who make exotic characters, and the extroverts or at least the more grounded folks tend to make characters more closely resembling themselves.

Thoughts?

And then Ryugyong blasted off into space. A concept video revolving around a Pyongyang that never was. Filched off of Boing Boing.

Logic-crazed abandon.

I can't find it in me to blame the villagers in this story, but grave-robbing has always seemed like a horribly bad idea, ghosts or no ghosts.

Maybe it's just because I was brought up on stories of East Germany, the gulags, and the badness that is North Korea, but this story sends chills down my spine. I keep seeing stories about Putin putting a chokehold on the Russian media. And then I see this. Really makes a girl wonder.

This rounds out the generally creepy tone of the post.

Itty-bitty bats!

Seen on the Washington Metro: "Artomatic: Unfiltered. Unfettered. Unclassified."

And in the cafeteria of the Army installation: "Entrees: Stake and Cheese."

As seen on FARK: If your dream job involves fast cars, laser watches and having sex with beautiful foreign spies, you may be interested to know MI6 is having a recruitment drive.
